Latest Publication in English: Crowdlending and Fintechs in Germany
Digitisation has created new possibilities to raise or invest capital on the financial markets. Within the field of crowdfunding, Professor Hartmann's most recent article in English examines the current example of crowdlending as it is today arranged by fintechs on digital platforms. The market is characterised by high growth rates even though in Germany the business model is regulated in a specifically differentiated way. Against the background of an economic analysis the article arrives at legal reform proposals designed to preserve innovation potential without diminishing consumer and capital market protection. The paper is a translation of Hartmann's piece "Digitale Ökonomie am Beispiel der Fintechs" (BKR 2017, 321 et seq.) and has been published in the December issue of the Journal of European Consumer and Market Law (EuCML 2017, 245 et seq.). Both law reviews are published by C. H. Beck, Munich. The Article is available through beck-online as well.
